New and veteran occupational and physical therapists participating in this course will develop, share and expand knowledge of their roles and responsibilities in early intervention and school based services in Maryland. Participants will learn from each other, through article reviews, models, and examples of ?Best Practice? in a school setting. Therapists will be instructed in current educational topics including but not limited to "Universal Design for Learning", the "Common Core Standards" and "Skillful Teaching". In addition, an overarching purpose of the class is to facilitate collaboration and coaching between new and veteran therapists. CPD courses cannot overlap and full attendance is expected. MCPS does not allow CPD courses to be audited.
The course is divided into 15 sessions. The course work will be completed online.
Each session requires 3 hours of course work over a two week period. Within each session, the participants are directed to a learning task, followed by two or more contributions to an online forum, and completion of a project.
